چکیده

Objective: To determine the effects of elastic intramedullary nails used for fixation femur diaphyseal fractures in paediatric patients. Method: This prospective observational research was done from April 2020 to June 2021. 52 patients diagnosed with mean age 6 12 years were enrolled this study. All admitted and subsequently operated treatment fracture using nail retrograde fashion. Patients structured follow up till radiological union realized. Flynn scoring criteria applied evaluate functional outcomes at months after surgery. Results: The average patient 9 (6- years), all 26 weeks (14-36 weeks). Fracture observed children time (range 6-12 Four participants suffered superficial skin infection entry site. Two had limb length discrepancy upto1.5cm two varus angulations (10º) proximal migration noted. According Criteria outcome excellent 38 (73.1%), satisfactory (23.1%), poor 2 (3.8%) respectively Conclusion: Fixation femoral is better option. One can achieve results, clinical bony union, lowest complication rate, so it could be regarded as a favorable implant management pediatric group. Keywords: Fracture, shaft, Nail, Paediatric
